Bing it or Google it? – Google Vs Microsoft

Bing it? Or Google it? Microsoft’s revamped search engine claims to perform a lot of magic tricks. Bing is being marketed as a ‘decision engine’ , which will offer more insights to users for helping them take decisions, and not necessarily throw the most popular and relevant items.
If a user runs a search for Indian Airlines, Bing will provide the airline’s Schedule, jobs and reservation related information, although it is to be noted that you may not get similar results if you search for other companies or services.
The problem with the approach with which Bing is being marketed, as pointed by many technologists, is that Bing is trying to be the next Google. Rather than marketing Bing as a new concept, Bing is being marketed as a better version of Google. Microsoft has reportedly spent over 100 million dollars on Bing.
Problem with this approach is that whatever competitive edge Microsoft aims to achieve with Bing might not be sustainable, since it won’t take Google much time to replicate and even better the advantages offered by Bing.
Another product a lot of people are looking forward to is Google Wave. Google Wave is a browser-based tool that mixes e-mail, with Instant Messaging and real-time online collaboration elements.
“In Google Wave you create a wave and add people to it. Everyone on your wave can use richly formatted text, photos, gadgets, and even feeds from other sources on the web. They can insert a reply or edit the wave directly.
With Google constantly pushing the envelope and coming with such innovative products, it wont be long before it acquires the coveted number one spot, that is if its not there already.
