Do you want to land a good paying business consulting job that will give you at least a 5 digit salary? Here’s what you need to do:
1. Go back to school. If you don’t have a bachelor degree yet in business management, marketing, accounting, or finance, I recommend that you consider going back to school. Check on your local university if they offer any of these courses or study online if you want to learn at your own pace. Depending on the time that you are willing to put in, you can finish a course in as little as 6 months to 1 year.
2. Get relevant experience. It’s very difficult to apply for a business consulting job if you don’t have relevant experience. Thus, I recommend that you consider taking those internship programs that are being offered by business schools or consulting firms. You can also offer your service for free (at least for the mean time) to your friends or family members who have their own businesses.
3. Trainings and seminars. You can improve your skills and increase your knowledge on the field of business coaching by simply attending relevant seminars and trainings that are being offered both in the online and offline arena by industry leaders.
4. Create an impressive resume. Once you have the needed educational background, experience, trainings, and seminars, you can easily create a resume that will surely impress your potential employer. Make your resume speak volumes about your expertise and keep it short as much as possible. Manually proofread it and send it to top consulting firms where you want to work at.
