Well said about letting the eagle fly. My experience in the indsutry says leadership trainings are for the ones that are not trained MBAs with immense exposure to aspects of business and the ones that have been let to fly but end up wanting to land heavy on others shoulders.
I strongly you missed out something dude...it is the fact about the saints. presuming that you have had little or no idea about saints or who you call saints is the cheap gurus, I would only like to point out one saint Mother Teresa...read about her and you will see whether it was CSR value add or management of a huge organization with the help of very ordinary people at the lowest levels of Maslow's hierarchy still leading the organizations!!

I agree with the point that leadership comes from the top, and walking the talk everyday day in and day out. However, having said that I do strongly feel there is merit in reinforcing the eladership concepts by effective learning interventions.
It might not change a bad leader into a good leader in a day, but what it does is build on the existing leadership and plugs gap in case they are existing because of - lack of knowledge, lack of know-how as to how to implement those practices etc. etc.
Its like, even if you learn a lot from your on-the-job training and nothing can replace that, you still need to do your studying by the book/ or attending an initial orientation which will put you on the path of growth as a professional.
Leadership training serves the same purpose. However, to sustain that the programs should be effective- applicable to their normal work life....i agree with that

Fantasitc read, I quite agree with your point of view, aspiring employee doesn't need a day or two training programs to show that the firm cares for them, they need exposure, they need authority to take responsibilites of their actions (good or bad, face it). It is important they get opportunity to prove themselves and develop them with their experience.
Look forward to more insightful n interesting read from you.

Dear Mr.Arnab,

I surely agree with you ....and I think that this has been a trend in terms of mindset of many organisation tht leaders emerge successful post traninig....hoping that this post of yours is being read by many other like minded people who tends to follow this norm thereby giving that space to people to grow and prove themselves....having said and accepted this our systems do need a make over too as I also believe that many organisation people are not able to grow despite have all the necessary qualities of so called Leaders and would like to attribute to a word which many might not like/ accept but on the back it plays a very significant role called Politics which can be detrimental to the individual and to the organsiation yet this remains a key defacto motto or driving force to attain the position in many a cases.

If have offended anybody with my comments kindly apolozise as these are strictly mine....but I am sure many would agree to this as well....pls feel free to add any comment .....thanks ...

There are managers and there are leaders. Most organisations need to develop their middle managers who invariably do not have the confidence to challenge their executive managers to become the leaders that are required - and for which they are often paid.
